Cardiothoracic Surgeon Joins Medical Staff at Ocala Health System
Ocala, FL (June 9, 2010) - Joseph Alesnik, MD, a cardiothoracic surgeon, has joined the medical staff at Ocala Health System Ocala Regional Medical Center and West Marion Community Hospital.
Before joining Ocala Health System, Dr. Alesnik practiced at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. Prior to that, he worked at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis, FL. Dr. Alesnik completed his medical education at The University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. He completed his internship and residency in Surgery at the University of Louisville and an additional residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX.
Dr. Alesnik, who is board certified in Thoracic Surgery with added qualifications in Robot-Assisted Cardiac Surgery, has participated in numerous research projects and has written several abstracts on cardiovascular disease.
Selected as one of Americas 50 Best Hospital Ocala Health System is the health organization which encompasses Ocala Regional Medical Center, a 200-bed facility located in the heart of Ocala, and West Marion Community Hospital, a 70-bed hospital located in West Marion County.
